Relaxation/Stress Management
…..Everyday life
involves various stresses and our ability to respond to stress is one of the
oldest of all physiological survival mechanisms. Generally we all cope very
well. However certain situations increase stress to a level where physical and
emotional problems can develop.
Indicators are:
Tiredness Muscle pain Anxiety
Sleep disturbance Restlessness Poor concentration
Irritability Headache
When stress levels build, stress related illnesses start to appear:
Depression Irritable bladder Peptic Ulcers
Irritable digestion Drug abuse Impotence
Asthma Dermatitis Heart disease
Mouth Ulcers Headaches Anxiety
We all know how hard it is to deal with some problems and at these times, talking with someone may assist you in finding a solution or developing a strategy for coping more effectively.
Apart from psychological support, good nutrition and effective digestion are essential components of an effective stress management program e.g. the adrenal glands utilize vitamin B5 and B6 in the production of stress reducing hormones and minerals such as magnesium are essential for normal nerve function.
Herbal combinations have also proved effective in managing stress-related illness.
Guided Meditations.
At Tryfoss we regularly
use guided meditations as a way to remove the negative effects of stress and
facilitate positive change in the lives of our clients. Unlike general guided
meditations we tailor your individual session to your particular needs and use
Hypnotherapy techniques to deepen the experience. During my twenty plus years of
teaching I regularly used guided meditations to successfully relax an entire
class group of 30 or more children and in some instances achieved better playground and
classroom behaviours.
The Session: Your session will usually take around an hour and you will take home with you a follow-up CD, again personalised to greater enhance your meditation practise.
